About Us!

Sodasy Van, Lead Psychologist

I was inspired to pursue a career in mental health by my mother, a dedicated psychiatric nurse. This passion led me to earn both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology and Counseling from the Royal University of Phnom Penh.

Following my bachelor's degree, I spent a year in Thailand working at the Ministry of Public Health, Psychology Department, gaining valuable experience in mental health services. Upon returning to Cambodia, I worked as a school psychologist for a well-known NGO before joining two of the country’s leading Western psychology clinics as a psychologist. With 13 years of professional experience, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of psychotherapy. Driven by a commitment to making mental health services more accessible for the modern Khmer generation, I established my own clinic to provide compassionate and evidence-based care.

In my practice, I emphasize self-reliance and self-discovery, guiding clients as a facilitator and mentor rather than simply providing answers. My approach is grounded in evidence-based methods, and I remain dedicated to continuous professional development, ensuring that my work reflects the latest advancements in psychological research.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a structured, evidence-based approach used to help people heal from traumatic experiences or distressing memories. It works by using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation while the person recalls a traumatic event. This process helps the brain reprocess the memory in a healthier way, reducing emotional distress and negative beliefs linked to the trauma. EMDR is used for PTSD, anxiety, phobias, and other emotional issues.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based form of talk therapy that helps people understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful thinking patterns and replacing them with more realistic and balanced thoughts. CBT also teaches practical coping skills to manage emotional difficulties and make positive behavior changes. It is effective for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, and more.

Exposure Therapy

Exposure therapy is a psychological treatment that helps people reduce fear or anxiety related to specific situations, objects, or memories. It works by gradually and repeatedly exposing a person to the feared source—in a safe and controlled way—so they can learn that it is not as dangerous as it feels. Over time, this helps reduce avoidance and builds confidence. Exposure therapy is commonly used for phobias, social anxiety, PTSD, and OCD.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed to help people manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and build a life worth living. It combines acceptance and change strategies, helping individuals accept their experiences while working toward healthier behaviors. DBT focuses on four key skills: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. It is especially effective for people who struggle with emotional dysregulation, self-harm, or borderline personality disorder.

Trauma-informed Therapy

Trauma-informed therapy is an approach that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment in the healing process. It focuses on understanding how trauma affects a person’s thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Trauma-informed therapy can be integrated with various treatment methods and is especially helpful for individuals with a history of abuse, neglect, violence, or other overwhelming experiences.
